The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organized the webinar with the topic “The Role of Municipalities in the European Integration Process.” The participants included officials from the Offices for European Integration in municipalities, as well as several Units for Integration in municipalities in the Republic of Albania. The aim of the webinar was to share experiences on the involvement and role of the Offices for European Integration and the Municipal Units for Integration (Albania) in the country’s integration process into the European Union.
The institutional development expert and leader of the “Municipalities for Europe” Project – Albania, Jolanda Trebicka, presented via the Zoom platform the challenges and practices that municipalities are facing in Albania.
Whereas, the Director of the European Integration Office in the City of Patos, Elda Goxhaj, presented on the management of the integration structure in the Municipality of Patos in the Republic of Albania.
The focus was placed on the activities of these offices/units, including the harmonization of municipal policies with the European ones, their role in fulfilling obligations from the European state agendas, the application processes for development funds (IPA), and the promotion of the European integration process.
This activity was carried out in the framework of the program ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’, supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Prishtina
