In terms of municipal support through the facilitation of the KLGI Institute, Norway’s ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Jens Erik Grondahl and Deputy Ambassador Ms. Hilde Berit Eide, together with the Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Mr. Valmir Gashi, visited the municipalities of Gracanica and Partesh where they were welcomed by Ms. Ljiljana Subaric, Mayor of the Municipality of Gracanica, Mr. Leutrim Ajeti, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Gracanica and Mr. Dragan Petković, Mayor of the Municipality of Partesh.
The meetings aimed to discuss the achievements and challenges of these two municipalities in the field of economic development, strategic planning, innovation, and digitalization of administrative services to increase the level of services to citizens.
Ambassador Mr. Jens Erik Grondahl expressed the support of the Royal Norwegian Government for municipalities in Kosovo in advancing local democracy and increasing efficiency and sustainable development.
Also, Executive Director Mr. Valmir Gashi expressed the commitment of the KLGI Institute to support municipalities in increasing the capacity of municipal staff for strategic planning and professional support in advancing municipal policies and increasing the efficiency of services.
During the meetings, it was emphasized that the Royal Norwegian Embassy is playing a special role and serious commitment in supporting local governance in Kosovo, either through direct support or through the ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities’ (DEM) program, which the KLGI Institute is implementing.”
