Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) supports the Ministry of Regional Development (MARD) in drafting the Draft Law on Regional Development.

In the workshop organized by the KLGI Institute it was discussed about the challenges, problems and setbacks in the field of regional development, to be addressed in the document in order to approximate EU regional development policies.

During the workshop, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Agon Dobruna, the Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Valmir Gashi, the Deputy Director of the Department for Planning and Regional Socio-Economic Analysis in MARD, Vjendita Avdiu, presented.

It was stressed that it is necessary to link and coordinate between sectorial development policies and activities at the regional level, stimulating inter-regional, cross-border and international cooperation. First of all, proper mechanisms for access to EU development funds, in order to achieve a balanced and sustainable development

The KLGI Institute serves as a platform for a more structured communication in capacity building and the drafting of policies and legislation.
This activity was realized within the project ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’ funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Kosovo.
