Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), organized the workshop "Local Government in the Progress Report". The participants were officials for European Integration in Municipalities and representatives from the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA).

At the opening of the workshop, the Executive Director of the KLGI Institute, Valmir Gashi, pointed out that the analysis serves institutions, public actors, civil society and the media as a reference point for the challenges of local government. Whereas for the KLGI Institute, it serves as an instrument in adapting strategies and areas of intervention in function of the common agenda towards European reforms.

Moreover, the Program Director of KLGI, Besnik Muçaj, presented the analysis “Local Government in the Progress Report. The KLGI Institute has analyzed the European Commission Country Report, and has issued a focus analysis on issues related to local government.

Whereas, the Director of the Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination in MLGA, Shkëlqim Jakupi, presented “Report of the EC for Kosovo 2021 - the challenges of local government.”

In addition, during the workshop were analyzed and discussed the potentials of municipalities in fulfilling the obligations arising from the European Commission Country Report. In the reporting period 2020-2021, local government is analyzed and evaluated in specific areas of municipal competencies and inter-institutional sectoral issues.

KLGI is committed to conducting analyses and studies that contribute to effective local government practices in Kosovo. Also, through educational programs, it works on capacity building of the country's municipalities.
