The Kosovo Local Governance Institute (KLGI), with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), organized a three-day training (May 12-14) as part of the “Youth Academy for Local Governance” program, with the theme “Local Governance, Vision and Political Leadership”. The program aims to increase and empower the role of young people and women in municipal assemblies in advancing local policies and processes.
Through three sessions, the participants increased their knowledge on the following topics: The basics of local governance and municipal strategic documents; Principles of good governance and mechanisms of direct democracy at the local level; Leadership and communication, leadership models, and the difference between a leader and a manager.
Strengthening the capacities of members of the Municipal Assembly increases the level of public policies and processes at the local level, while also advancing the level of local democracy. Within the program, participants were divided into groups to present and stimulate issues, identifying, analyzing, and addressing municipal problems.
After the completion of the program, the KLGI Institute and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) awarded certificates to the participants of the “Youth Academy for Local Governance”.
