The Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI) organized a discussion on the topic “INTEGRATION PATH – THE ROLE OF THE LOCAL LEVEL – Reflection for Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia.”
During the discussion, was presented the analysis regarding the role of municipalities in the region in the processes of European Integration in the Western Balkan countries. The main findings of the analysis extend to three key aspects: Description of data from European Commission reports for the countries; Objectives set in strategic documents in the field of local governance; and Key actions of the institutions of the respective countries.
This analysis aims to encourage each country to take actions to fulfill their obligations, comparing actions among states, promoting the exchange of information and practices in fulfilling these obligations, and enhancing partnerships among countries in the European integration processes.
It was a common agreement to continue discussions on building a concept for municipal structures for strategic and developmental planning.
This activity was carried out in the framework of the program ‘Dialogue for European Municipalities (DEM)’, supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Prishtina.
