Skenderaj

Area and Population

The municipality of Skenderaj is located in northwestern Kosovo. It covers an area of approximately 378 km² and includes Skenderaj town and 49 villages.

According to the Kosovo Population and Housing Census 2020, the total population is 52.714. 

Governing Structures and Political Overview

The total number of voters in Skenderaj municipality registered for the last municipal elections held in October 2021 was 53,479 including out of Kosovo voters.

The voter turnout was 43.6 percent/23,302 voters (source: Central Election Commission).

The current composition of the  Municipal Assembly is as follows:

PDK - Democratic Party of Kosovo (54.04%)
LPBJ – Independent List Bekim Jashari (31.59%)
LVV - Vetëvendosje (Self-Determination) (5.60%)
AAK – Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (1.86%)
NISMA – Social Democratic Movement (1.69%)
